Aayas NIT Sikkim

     Aayas ( a prayas) is the official community development society of NIT Sikkim. It was established in the year 2014 by the 2012-2016 batch. Since then the students have done lot of social service under the umbrella of this society. The society always strives for the excellence in the development of the communities in and around the campus. The students along with support from the faculty concentrate on the socially backward communities in the vicinity of the campus and thereby contribute for the overall development of the state and the country. Aayas’s team is lead by the students and thereby instils the qualities of good team work and leadership among the students.

     The society works with a vision to curb all the social evils and ensure a safe environment for the present and future generations.

1. Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, an initiative by the Govt. of India is well implemented so far in and around the campus.
2. Workshops on many useful technicalities at a cost of 1 rupee per person.
   • The fund raised is used for the social works.
3. Awareness programmes, among the people around the campus, on the importance of education in their lives.
4. Successfully installed eco-friendly dustbins in every corner of the institute and also in the nearby town.
