Placement Policy

This season, the whole process has been made online to facilitate the students as well as the recruiters.

1) Student Eligibility & Registration


  1. Only bonafide students of the Institute who satisfy the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Training and Placement (T&P) Cell shall be eligible to participate in campus placement activities.
  2. Students intending to participate in campus placements shall register with the T&P Cell within the prescribed registration period. Registration shall be mandatory for participation in any campus recruitment process.
  3. A registered student shall provide accurate and complete academic and personal information. Submission of false, incomplete, or misleading information at any stage of the placement process may result in cancellation of registration, withdrawal from ongoing recruitment processes, or other disciplinary action as deemed appropriate by the Institute.
  4. Registration with the T&P Cell does not guarantee eligibility for every recruitment process. Students shall satisfy the eligibility criteria specified by the respective recruiting organization, including but not limited to academic performance, programme, branch, year of study, graduation year, and any other conditions prescribed by the recruiter.
  5. Students shall carefully review the eligibility criteria, job description, compensation details, and other instructions communicated by the T&P Cell before registering for any recruitment process. Registration for a company shall be deemed as acceptance of all applicable terms and conditions of the recruitment process.
  6. The T&P Cell reserves the right to reject or cancel the registration of a student who does not satisfy the prescribed eligibility criteria or violates any provision of this policy.

2) Authority of the Training & Placement Cell


  1. The Training & Placement Cell shall be responsible for:
    • Inviting and coordinating with recruiting organizations.
    • Announcing placement opportunities.
    • Publishing the list of selected candidates.
  2. The determination and modification of eligibility criteria, selection procedures, compensation structure, job profiles, and all recruitment-related decisions shall remain the sole prerogative of the recruiting organization.
  3. The T&P Cell shall not be held responsible for any revision in company requirements, including CGPA criteria, academic requirements, or selection processes.
  4. Students shall not seek clarification, justification, or reconsideration directly from the recruiting organization regarding selection or rejection decisions. Any such communication shall be made only through the T&P Cell.

3) Communication with Recruiting Organizations


  1. Students (except the Placement Coordinators) shall not directly contact any representative, recruiter, HR personnel, or employee of a recruiting organization regarding an ongoing campus recruitment process.
  2. Once the final list of selected candidates has been declared by the company, students shall respect the outcome of the selection process.
  3. Any violation of this policy shall invite strict disciplinary action, including penalties and suspension from placement activities, as determined by the T&P Cell.

4) Salary Band Structure and Eligibility


  1. For the purpose of campus placements, recruiting organizations shall be classified into the following salary bands based on the annual Cost to Company (CTC) offered.
  2. Band Category Salary Range (LPA)
    Band 1 ≤ 4 LPA
    Band 2 > 4 LPA and < 7 LPA
    Band 3 ≥ 7 LPA and < 10 LPA
    Dream Band ≥ 10 LPA and < 16 LPA
    Super Dream Band ≥ 16 LPA
  3. A student who secures a placement offer in a particular salary band shall become ineligible to participate in recruitment processes belonging to the same or any lower salary band.
  4. Such a student may participate only in recruitment processes belonging to higher salary bands, subject to the eligibility criteria prescribed by the recruiting organization, and the restriction and offer limit (as per the Clause 6).

5) Recruitment Process


  1. The T&P Cell shall notify eligible students of placement opportunities through the official communication channels of the Institute. The notification shall include, wherever available, details such as the recruiting organization, job profile, compensation package, eligibility criteria, recruitment schedule, and registration deadline.
  2. Students who satisfy the prescribed eligibility criteria and are interested in the opportunity shall register for the recruitment process within the stipulated timeline. No registration shall be permitted after the prescribed deadline unless specifically approved by the T&P Cell.
  3. The structure, sequence, eligibility criteria, evaluation methodology, and selection process for each recruitment drive shall be determined exclusively by the recruiting organization.
  4. Students shall comply with the schedule and instructions communicated by the T&P Cell and the recruiting organization throughout the recruitment process.
  5. The final selection of candidates shall be made exclusively by the recruiting organization. The T&P Cell shall have no role in the selection or rejection of candidates.
  6. All recruitment-related information, including shortlisting, interview schedules, and selection results, shall be communicated through the official channels of the T&P Cell or the recruiting organization, as applicable.
  7. Offer letters, internship letters, and other employment-related documents shall be issued directly by the recruiting organization. The T&P Cell shall not be responsible for issuing such documents or for any subsequent changes made by the recruiting organization.
  8. The recruiting organization reserves the right to modify its eligibility criteria, recruitment process, compensation structure, job profile, or recruitment schedule at any stage of the recruitment process. The Institute and the T&P Cell shall not be held responsible for such modifications.

6) Early Placement Restriction and Offer Limit


  1. A student who secures and accepts a PPO or an FTO before the commencement of the seventh semester shall not be eligible to participate in any subsequent campus recruitment process until the Institute Placement Rate reaches 40%.
  2. Until the Institute Placement Rate reaches 40%, such a student shall be permitted to hold only one accepted offer.
  3. Notwithstanding Clauses 6(a) and 6(b), a student shall remain eligible to participate in recruitment drives conducted under the Super Dream Band, subject to the eligibility criteria prescribed by the recruiting organization.
  4. A student may hold a maximum of two accepted offers during the placement session, excluding a Super Dream Offer.
  5. If a student accepts a Super Dream Offer, he/she shall be deemed finally placed and shall not be eligible to participate in any further campus recruitment process. Such an offer shall be in addition to the maximum of two offers permitted under Clause 6(d).
  6. Any accepted PPO shall be counted towards the maximum offer limit, irrespective of whether it is subsequently converted into a Full-Time Offer.

7) Offer Acceptance Policy


7.1. Offer Acceptance Timeline

  1. Students shall accept or reject an offer within the timeline prescribed by the recruiting organization.
  2. Failure to respond within the stipulated period shall be deemed as rejection or non-acceptance of the offer. The Institute shall not be responsible for any consequences arising therefrom.
  3. In the event that a student receives multiple offers on the same day, the student must make a final choice before the end of that day.
  4. No extension of the decision deadline shall be granted under any circumstances.

7.2. Pre-Placement Offer (PPO)

  1. A student may accept only one PPO during a placement session.
  2. A student who has accepted a PPO shall not be eligible to participate in any subsequent PPO recruitment process.
  3. Acceptance of a PPO shall not restrict the student from participating in Full-Time recruitment drives, subject to the offer-limit and eligibility provisions of this policy.
  4. A Performance-Based PPO that requires successful completion of an internship before its conversion into a Full-Time Offer shall be treated as a PPO until such conversion. Upon formal conversion, it shall be treated as a Full-Time Offer (FTO) for all purposes under this policy, including offer limits and subsequent eligibility.
  5. A PPO, irrespective of whether it is subsequently converted into a Full-Time Offer, shall be counted as one accepted offer for the purpose of determining the maximum offer limit under this policy.

7.3. Full-Time Offer and Full-Time PPO

  1. A Full-Time PPO shall be treated as a Full-Time Offer (FTO) for the purpose of determining offer limits and subsequent eligibility.
  2. A student receiving more than one Full-Time Offer shall communicate the final acceptance decision within the timeline prescribed by the recruiting organization or the T&P Cell, whichever is applicable.
  3. Once a student accepts a Full-Time Offer, the student's eligibility for subsequent placement opportunities shall be governed by the offer-limit provisions of this policy.

7.4.Super Dream Offer

  1. A student satisfying the prescribed eligibility criteria may participate in Super Dream recruitment drives, as provided in Clause 6(c).
  2. A student may accept only one Super Dream Offer during the placement session.
  3. Upon acceptance of a Super Dream Offer, the student shall be deemed finally placed and shall not be eligible to participate in any further campus recruitment process.
  4. A student accepting a Super Dream Offer shall be deemed to have withdrawn from any previously accepted campus offer, subject to the terms and conditions of the concerned recruiting organizations.
  5. If a student secures a Performance-Based Super Dream Band PPO, the student shall be eligible to accept only one additional offer, which may be either a Full-Time Role or a Full-Time PPO.

8) Offer Letter Distribution


  1. All offer letters shall be issued directly by the recruiting organization through its official communication channels.
  2. The T&P Cell shall not be responsible for issuing offer letters on behalf of any company.

9) Off-Campus Offer


  1. A student securing employment independently, outside the campus recruitment process conducted by the T&P Cell, shall promptly inform the T&P Cell of such offer.
  2. An independently secured offer shall be treated as an Off-Campus Offer and shall not be included in the Institute's campus placement statistics.
  3. Acceptance of an Off-Campus Offer shall not restrict a student from participating in campus placements unless the student voluntarily withdraws from the placement process or participation in campus placements is prohibited under the terms of the accepted Off-Campus Offer.
  4. The Institute shall not be responsible for any recruitment process, offer conditions, or employment-related matters associated with an Off-Campus Offer.

10) Mandatory Participation in the Recruitment Process


  1. A student who registers for a recruitment drive shall participate in all stages of the selection process conducted by the recruiting organization.
  2. A student who appears for any stage of the recruitment process, shall complete all subsequent stages for which the student is shortlisted.
  3. A student shall not withdraw from or discontinue the recruitment process after commencement of the selection process.
  4. A student may withdraw from a recruitment process before the commencement of the first stage of the selection process by informing the T&P Cell in writing.
  5. A student shall be permitted to withdraw from a maximum of two recruitment processes involving Core Companies during the entire placement session. For the purpose of this policy, the classification of a recruiting organization as a Core Company with respect to a particular branch shall be made by the T&P Cell, and its decision shall be final and binding.
  6. Withdrawal after the commencement of any stage of the recruitment process, including an online test, written examination, group discussion, technical interview, or HR interview, shall not be permitted except with the prior approval of the T&P Cell under exceptional circumstances
  7. A student who withdraws in violation of Clauses 10(a)–10(f) or fails to participate in any mandatory stage of the recruitment process without prior approval shall be debarred from participating in the next three placement drives for which the student is otherwise eligible. The T&P Cell may impose additional disciplinary action where appropriate.
  8. The T&P Cell may relax the above provisions under exceptional circumstances, such as medical emergencies or any other reason supported by documentary evidence.

11) Misconduct and Misbehavior


  1. Students shall maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, discipline, and ethical conduct throughout the placement process.
  2. Any student found guilty of misconduct or misbehavior shall be liable for disciplinary action, which may include cancellation of candidature, withdrawal from ongoing recruitment processes, temporary or permanent debarment from placement activities, or any other action deemed appropriate by the Institute.
  3. The decision of the T&P Committee, as approved by the competent authority of the Institute, shall be final and binding in all matters relating to misconduct and disciplinary action.

12) Company Recommendations


  1. Students may recommend prospective recruiting organizations to the T&P Cell by providing relevant information regarding employment opportunities. The T&P Cell may, at its discretion, initiate communication with such organizations. Such recommendations shall not obligate the T&P Cell or the Institute to invite or conduct recruitment through the recommended organization.

13) Inclusion of MOU Students in Placements


  1. Students admitted under Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) programs shall be considered as per the MOU guidelines.

14) Placement Session


  1. The official placement session shall commence on the date on which the T&P Cell releases the placement registration form. All policies, regulations, and procedures contained herein shall remain applicable throughout the duration of the placement session.

15) Interpretation of Policy


  1. In the event of any ambiguity or dispute regarding the interpretation of these regulations, the decision of the T&P Committee, as approved by the competent authority of the Institute, whose decision shall be final and binding.
  2. The T&P Cell reserves the right to amend, modify, interpret, or relax any provision of this policy with the approval of the competent authority whenever circumstances so require.
  3. The provisions of this policy shall be read and interpreted as a whole. No clause or sub-clause shall be interpreted in isolation or in a manner that is inconsistent with the objectives, intent, or other provisions of this policy.
